This year’s Gala celebrates a rare and joyful moment in the life of St. Michael’s Abbey: the blessing of a new abbot and the continuation of a sacred way of life handed down through generations. In anticipation of the Abbatial Blessing on September 28, we gather to give thanks for the Church’s living tradition, to rejoice in the enduring vocation of the Norbertine canons, and to mark the beginning of a new chapter under the fatherhood of Abbot John.
God never ceases to pour out His grace through the life of His Church—in the sacraments, in priestly vocations, and in communities consecrated to prayer and the service of souls. For more than nine centuries, the Norbertine Order has shared in that work, and St. Michael’s Abbey is a living part of this great inheritance.
This year’s Gala celebrates all that God has accomplished through the Abbey and looks with joyful hope to the chapter ahead, as we gather around Abbot John and support him in the sacred charge now entrusted to his care.

Proceeds from the Abbatial Blessing Gala will support Abbot John as he begins this new chapter of leadership and will help sustain the prayer, formation, and apostolic work of St. Michael’s Abbey for the years ahead.

Following Solemn Vespers before the Gala on September 26, Grand Patrons and their guests will enjoy an intimate private reception with His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke and Father Abbot. Grand Patrons may reserve up to two tables of eight at the Gala dinner.
Grand Patrons also receive reserved front-row seating for up to four guests at the Solemn Mass of the Abbatial Blessing on September 28, together with an original hand-painted icon made by the seminarians.
Benefactors will enjoy the Gala with a reserved table for eight and will receive reserved seating for two guests at the Solemn Mass of the Abbatial Blessing on September 28.
An abbatial blessing commemorative icon will also be presented in remembrance of this historic occasion.
Sponsors will receive two tickets to the Gala, together with an abbatial blessing commemorative icon.
Individual guests will receive one ticket to attend the Gala.
